This present Rolex Air-King is in fantastic condition with a flawless dial and excellent professionally refurbished case with very thick lugs and gorgeous condition. The bracelet is original and dated 1985m it comes with the original inner and outer boxes and all the original paperwork – I suggest it is virtually impossible to find a better example of a vintage Rolex 5500 Air-King. The Rolex Air-King Reference 5500 The Rolex Air-King 5500 was introduced in 1958, it used the caliber 1520 or 1530 movement. Many variations of dials were used during the production run, including the extremely rare double red dial, The 5500 case measured 34mm and served as the foundation for what would become the longest-running generation of Air-King watches. Whilst the 5500 reference number was also used for certain 34mm Explorer and Oyster Perpetual models, it is most frequently associated with the Air-King, and is often considered to be the quintessential Rolex Air-King reference |
